Alabama High School HC Fired After 4 Years
Rodney Jordan took over a new role in 2022, inheriting a team that had gone 1–9 in 2021. With its back against the wall, he slowly brought it back into contention during his first two years.
Yet now Jordan will have to bid adieu to the same school. According to AL.com, Satsuma High School has decided to part ways with Jordan.
Jordan's time at Satsuma saw a resurgence during his time. His efforts yielded tangible progress during the middle of his stretch, specifically highlighted by back-to-back 5–5 regular season campaigns in 2023 and 2024.
However, the program hit a roadblock in grueling region play, securing a tough 4–22 record against region rivals over his four years at the helm. Satsuma Gators finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 3-7, including a 0-6 mark in Class 4A Region 1 play.

Following a challenging 3–7 campaign, the school’s administration ultimately determined that a fresh perspective was necessary to push the team into postseason contention.
He had accumulated a 13-26 record over the course of four years.
Jordan also shared an emotional statement after his release.
Jordan Shares Emotional Note After Release
Rodney Jordan looked back at memories with Satsuma quite fondly. After the announcement of his release, he shares his honest message with AL.com.
"The past four years have been an absolute joy. I appreciate the efforts put on by the assistant coaches, the trainers, and the rest of the staff and supporters who donated their time to the program. It’s been an honor and a privilege to teach and lead the young men as their football coach.”
Since his dismissal, Satsuma High School announced that Josh Andrews will serve as the interim head coach of the Gators. Andrews served as the defensive coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Satsuma before this.
Andrews was instrumental in helping Baldwin County's first playoff appearance in 14 years. Meanwhile, the Satsuma Gators are looking to find a replacement ahead of the 2026 season.
Satsuma High School serves as an educational cornerstone in the Satsuma City School System. This has been independent since 2012. Naturally, the school will look to find a suitable replacement to fill Jordan's shoes.
