Analyst rips into Michigan over controversial Jim Harbaugh past after Warde Manuel mess
Just when Michigan thought the scandal was fading, fresh allegations surfaced. Former assistant Chris Partridge made explosive claims, prompting a brutal attack on Jim Harbaugh by NFL Insider Dan Dakich.
In a fiery rant, the former coach claimed that while Partridge alleged the sign-stealing findings were withheld from the NCAA on then-president Santa Ono's orders, it also made Jim Harbaugh look like a coward.
“Jim Harbaugh is the biggest coward in the history of coaching. Now, whatever you think about that statement, good for you. But let me explain. He had to cheat. Urban Meyer went 7-0 against him,” said Dakich.

As the controversy intensified, Outkick’s insider Dan Dakich took to his X handle to level a harsh critique against Michigan Football.
“There is no bigger coward than Jim Harbaugh. John Harbaugh's a great dude, but Jim Harbaugh is legitimately the worst ever, and every single person in coaching knows it,” Dakich said.
Michigan's tenure under Jim Harbaugh was defined by significant controversy, anchored by the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal that sparked sweeping NCAA investigations and triggered millions in ongoing university legal expenses.
Furthermore, Harbaugh faced previous NCAA discipline for violating recruitment rules during the COVID-19 period.
His name was subsequently tied to records involving former assistant Matt Weiss, who faces criminal charges for allegedly gaining unauthorized access to university computer networks and player accounts.
Dakich pointed the finger directly at Jim Harbaugh and claimed the former head coach was at the center of the entire situation.
Dan Dakich calls Jim Harbaugh a cheater over his actions
According to CBS News, an amended complaint filed by former University of Michigan football coach Chris Partridge alleged that school leaders concealed their knowledge of the sign-stealing scheme from the NCAA in 2023.
The lawsuit named former President Santa Ono, current athletic director Warde Manuel, and Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti as the primary defendants.
That 2023-2025 NCAA sign-stealing episode cost Jim Harbaugh not only a three-game suspension before he chose to leave collegiate athletics for the NFL.
His 10-year show-cause penalty begins only after his existing four-year sanction ends, meaning he may not be able to coach a college team until 2038. However, he joined the Los Angeles Chargers as head coach, bypassing any punishment.
“Everybody around Harbaugh gets effed in the end except Harbaugh. Why? Because one, Harbaugh knows he's a coward, so he runs like a coward. And two, Harbaugh, for whatever the reason, has all these little d********* in the media going, oh, he's so quirky. He ain't quirky. He's a coward. He's a b****,” Dakich concluded.
