Baltimore Ravens Coach Shares Proud Message After Son's Under-Armour MVP Win
When Lou Esposito packed up and headed to Baltimore in February 2026, a lot of people assumed his son Louis would follow. That assumption aged poorly. Louis Esposito is still a Michigan commit, and this past weekend at the Under Armour Next Chicago camp, he gave everyone a very loud reminder of exactly why programs across the country are still watching him closely.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman out of Saline High School took home OL MVP honors and finished third overall among all top performers at the camp. For a kid who is still more than a year away from enrolling in college, that kind of performance on a national stage means something.
Lou saw it all from Baltimore. He did not write a speech about it. He just reposted the Rivals graphic on X, tagged his son, and dropped three saluting emojis. Sometimes that says more than any paragraph could.
Louis has been a Michigan commit since July 2025. He was the first player to commit to the Wolverines in the entire 2027 class. He chose Michigan over offers from Louisville, Purdue, Pitt, and others.
"I've always been taught people make the place, and I think Michigan has one of the best cultures, one of the best atmospheres in all of college football," said the younger Esposito.
What made that commitment stand out was that Michigan did not just hand him the offer because of his last name.
"Louis earned an offer from Michigan after camping in front of offensive line coach Grant Newsome," On3’s writer, EJ Holland, wrote. “This wasn't a situation where Michigan offered just because he's the son of Lou Esposito. They really liked what they saw from him at camp.”
But with his father not there anymore, are there concerns that Louis may pack his bags as well?
Louis Esposito Is Holding Firm on Michigan Despite His Father's Move
When Lou left for Baltimore, questions immediately followed about whether Louis would reopen his recruitment. He answered them directly.
"My desire to play for the Wolverines has not changed, even if my father is not donning the Maize and Blue anymore," Louis said.
He has visited Notre Dame since his father's departure, but has not wavered. His official visit to Michigan is scheduled for the weekend of 19 Jun. A top 3 national camp performance at this stage of his recruitment only makes that visit more interesting.
Louis Esposito is building his own story now. And his father could not be prouder watching from Baltimore.
