Caitlin Clark Responds After Michigan Booster Dave Portnoy Claims She Blocked Him

Michigan Wolverines superfan and owner of Barstool Sports gets a response from WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark after she had blocked him.

According to Portnoy, Caitlin Clark blocked him after a Barstool employee, Rico Bosco, set Dave Portnoy up on a phone call with the brother of Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. Portnoy was afraid that his line of communication had ended when a message he sent to Clark “went to green.”

Caitlin Clark got back to the Michigan superfan on Monday, “I (Dave Portnoy) said, ‘Testing, am I blocked?” Portnoy shared on FS1’s “Wake Up Barstool.”

As it turned out, Caitlin Clark never blocked Dave Portnoy. As Portnoy went on to explain:

“She said (Caitlin Clark), ‘Yes, crying emoji, laughing, then no, LOL. I think you sent that last text when I was flying.”

There's a reason Portnoy was afraid. You see, he's a big fan of Caitlin Clark and has attended several Indiana Fever games. ‌The Barstool owner has maintained a close relationship with the Indiana Fever’s superstar.

Portnoy assumed the reason he was blocked by Clark was, “He (Rico Bosco) put a McCaffery in front of me on a cell phone, I didn’t know who I was talking to, and he was like ‘I don’t like what you guys have been saying about my dad,’ and I’m like ‘who am I talking to?’” said Portnoy.

At the time, Portnoy placed the blame on Bosco, “You cost me a Caitlin Clark relationship,” Portnoy said to Bosco. “You cost me my No.1 relationship.”

What Was the Aftermath After That Phone Call?

Well, there was something that Portnoy missed because of this situation. Portnoy missed out on the opportunity to have pizza with the former Iowa Hawkeye superstar.

“I was going to do a pizza review with her in Indianapolis. Blocked me,” Portnoy said. I DM’d her, no response. She always responds.”

This is presumably the famous “One Bite Reviews,” where the Barstool owner, Portnoy, takes one bite of the pizza and rates it on a scale of 1-10.

The Barstool Sports founder and owner claimed that on an anger scale of 1-10, he is “an 11 or 12.”
