Charles Woodson Reveals His Top 5 Michigan Players in Wolverines History

Hall of Famer Charles Woodson is regarded as one of the greatest players in Michigan history, and was recently asked to name his five favorite Michigan players.

During an appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast, he eventually settled on a group of Wolverines greats that included Woodson himself, Desmond Howard, Anthony Carter, Steve Hutchinson, and Blake Corum.

"Could I put myself in there? I am going to say, Desmond. I have to go Anthony Carter. That's tough. Get my man Hutch in there. Steve Hutchinson. Okay, so I got two receivers in there, and I got two. Let's put Blake in there for what he did his last couple of seasons, and he's rocking the deuce out there, too. Let's do that," said Woodson.

Woodson puts himself on the list as well. Apart from that, he adds names of former greats like wide receiver Anthony Carter, the three-time All‑American who broke multiple records for Michigan. Then there's Steve Hutchinson, who was one of the most decorated offensive linemen in program history.

'Hutch' served as the key blocker on Michigan’s 1997 national championship team. Blake Corum is the relatively newer one. The RB rushed for over 3000 yards to help Michigan win three straight Big Ten titles. Also, the 2023 national championship.

While all of these players have left Michigan, their legacy still lives on. For Charles Woodson.

Cooper DeJean Studying Charles Woodson Tapes To Improve His Game

Learning from the former greats is a great way to improve your game. That is exactly what the Philadelphia Eagles' cornerback Cooper DeJean is doing.

According to NBC's John Clark, Cooper has been watching old videos of Charles Woodson.

After his heroics for Michigan, he made an immediate impact at the NFL level with his string of strong performances. In his 18-year career with the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers, he recorded 65 interceptions. That also happened to be the fifth most in NFL history.

Woodson's versatility set him apart throughout his career. He finished with more than 1,200 tackles, 20 sacks, and 33 forced fumbles, making an impact from cornerback, safety, the slot, and even near the line of scrimmage.
