Dan Lanning's WR Makes "lasting impact" With $10,000 Donation to Texas High School

Dakorien Moore is heading into his sophomore season at Oregon. But he just did something that got everyone talking before camp even started. Moore donated $10,000 to the football program at his alma mater, Duncanville High School, Texas.

The school announced the donation on June 8, and praised the gesture on social media.

"Your support is making a lasting impact on the next generation of Panthers. We are proud to call you one of our own," Duncanville ISD posted online.

Duncanville is more than just his football home. It is where he became the No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the entire 2025 class.

In high school, Moore anchored the school's 4x200m relay team that set a national high school record of 1:22.25 in May 2024. He was as much a track star as a football recruit.

Moore played 11 games as a true freshman at Oregon. He caught 34 passes for 497 yards, recorded three touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown in 2025, even through a late-season injury.

Currently, Moore's On3 NIL valuation sits at $712,000. He has deals with Nike and Red Bull. That valuation was built during his freshman year alone.

This is not the first time his spending at Duncanville made headlines. The Wall Street Journal reported that he dropped $80,000 on his senior prom. That included $10,000 on matching outfits and $12,000 for an event planner alone.

Per 247Sports, Moore is the second-highest rated recruit in Oregon program history. But he has not forgotten where that journey started.

The $10,000 going back to his school's football program is just another testament to his gratitude and love for Duncanville.

What Does Oregon Look Like Heading Into 2026?

Ducks Head coach Dan Lanning has built Oregon into one of the most attractive programs in the country for top recruits. Moore was the crown jewel of his 2025 class and the highest-rated recruit Lanning had landed since taking over in Eugene.

However, Moore is not the only weapon Lanning has. Wide receiver Evan Stewart is back. He tore his patellar tendon in 2025 and sat the whole year out. But now, he is healthy and chasing his draft stock.

Jeremiah McClellan and Iverson Hooks are also in the WR room, giving Moore real competition for targets.

What's more, Dakorien Moore will get the chance to further improve his chemistry with Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. Their chances to play together were cut short after Dakorien's knee injury in 2025.

But that is what makes this Oregon offense exciting. Four legitimate weapons that Lanning can develop. That kind of depth is hard to stop.

Do you think Moore will have a breakout season for Oregon in 2026? Let us know in the comments.
