EA Sports College Football 27 Reveals Official Cover Featuring 3 Star Players

For the past two summers, EA Sports College Football has had the college football community buzzing about who would be on its cover. Well, the wait for their third annual cover is over.

This year’s cover features the Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore, Ole Miss Rebels running back Kewan Lacy, and Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney. The video game series revealed this cover on June 02.

“It’s a blessing,” Moore recently told On3. “Many times, as a kid, you played multiple games that have cover athletes. As a kid, you dream about being on there one day. And when they gave me the phone call and talked to my team about it, I was excited. It was a great shoot; I had a great time. I’m excited for the drop.”

The earliest editions of the EA college football games came into existence in the 90s. It was called the Bill Walsh College Football. This series then changed to NCAA Football, ran for over 15 years before coming to a halt in 2013.

The game returned in July 2024 for the first time in more than a decade. College Football 27 is set for release in mid-July. This edition is said to feature more faces and some changes.

Is There A Deluxe Edition With Three Other Faces On The Cover?

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the EA Sports College Football 2027 has a deluxe edition. This is set to feature two players and a head coach.

USC Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava, Notre Dame Fighting Irish cornerback Leonard Moore and Indiana Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti are reportedly on the deluxe edition of the cover.

“It’s an unbelievable opportunity, just for my family and my friends, and everybody who plays the game to connect with them,” Maiava said according to the June 2 report. “It’s going to be really cool to play me as a player, and it’s a really exciting game. I played the game myself; I can’t wait for it to come out.”

According to On3, fans can expect a return of Mascot Mashup, a revamped Dynasty Mode, and announcer presentation with the addition of dynamic weather.

There is one major change, though. According to On3, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit will not be making an appearance in the 2027 edition of the video game.

He was a part of the last two editions involved in the “Big Game” broadcast with veteran commentator Chris Fowler. These are reports and speculations.

The new edition has the athletes abuzz, while fans have to wait for the release. Are you excited? Tell us in the comments.
