Ex-Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor Faces Criminal Charges
Terrelle Pryor was one of the most electric quarterbacks in Ohio State Buckeyes history, who set a school record by completing 16 consecutive passes in 2010. After three seasons in Columbus and nine years in the NFL, the 36-year-old is facing criminal charges in his home state of Pennsylvania.
Officers in Monroeville pulled over a black Mercedes on Mosside Boulevard shortly before midnight on May 24. The car was speeding, but Pryor was not behind the wheel.
As reported by CBS News, he was found in the back seat in what police described as an "odd" position. The officer noted in the criminal complaint that Pryor was "breathing so heavily I could see the rise and fall of his chest through his shirt."
A r**** was visible on the floor of the vehicle. Officers asked Pryor to step out.
As he reached for his wallet to show his concealed carry permit, police spotted a clear plastic baggie of a powdery substance suspected to be M***. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
This is not his first legal matter since retiring from football in 2018. Pryor was s****** and arrested during a domestic incident in Pittsburgh the following year. He pleaded guilty to harassment and received 90 days of unsupervised probation.
Again in 2021, an arrest brought charges of a****** and harassment. Those were later dropped. He pleaded guilty to criminal mischief.
Most recently, three women filed lawsuits against Pryor in November 2025. They alleged he ran a red light in his Cybertruck on Pittsburgh's South Side, flipping the vehicle they were in. All three were taken to the hospital.
What Pryor's Ohio State Career Looked Like Before the NFL
Pryor arrived at Ohio State as the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2008 class. He was the top-ranked quarterback in the country out of Jeannette High School in Pennsylvania.
He threw for 6,177 yards and 57 touchdowns across three seasons. Added 2,164 rushing yards and 17 more scores. Won Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2008 and the Rose Bowl Offensive MVP in 2010.
However, his time in Columbus ended with the Tattoo Five scandal. Pryor and his four teammates traded memorabilia for tattoos, violating NCAA rules. He was then selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL supplemental draft.
