Indiana Fans Loved Branden Sharpe’s ‘Best in Indiana’ Message
The Indiana Hoosiers are looking to build their 2027 class after winning the 2025 National Championship. To do so, they have already secured Rico Jackson and Mason McDermott. Now they have their sixth commit, wide receiver Branden Sharpe, and the fans already see him as a strong addition.
On3 national recruiting analyst, Hayes Fawcett, shared the news on his X handle on May 19.
"BREAKING: Class of 2027 WR Branden Sharpe has Committed to Indiana, he tells me for @Rivals The 5’11 170 WR from Brownsburg, IN chose the Hoosiers over Vanderbilt, Duke, and Purdue," he shared.
He is the 85th-ranked receiver in the 2027 cycle and the 12th-best player in Indiana as per On3's rankings.
“The best in Indiana, play at Indiana. Thank you Jesus," said the Brownsburg, Indiana native after commitment. He is also the first receiver to commit.
Recruiting him wasn't easy. There were other programs like the Cincinnati Bearcats, Purdue Boilermakers, and Vanderbilt Commodores, among others, looking to acquire him. However, in the end, it was his home team that got his nod.
Branden was expected to make a trip to Bloomington, Indiana, on May 29, but he preponed his decision. Sharpe now joins five other players in the 2027 class. Apart from McDermott and Jackson, there's safety Garyon Hobbs, quarterback Jameson Purcell, and Jeremiah Jones.
Indiana fans are celebrating Sharpe's commitment.

He now brings his experience playing an integral role in helping the Brownsburg to an Indiana High School Athletic Association 6A championship. "Welcome, Branden. He totaled 151 yards and a touchdown through the air, leading Brownsburg to a 38-31 title game victory over Westfield High School on Nov. 29, 2025.
Another fan believes the 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver is an outstanding player. "Sharpe is a STUD! Go IU!" said another. His 15-touchdown season helped power the team to another state championship as he racked up 1,143 receiving yards.
Sharpe has been a two-time state champion with Brownsburg. So obviously, hopes are high in the Indiana camp.
