Michigan Wolverines dealt a huge blow to their recruiting dreams. Powerful tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola who was in Michigan's radius chose Notre Dame over them. He announced his nonbinding commitment during an online news conference on May 12th.

The elite tackle notched an offer from the Wolverines this fall. He had also expressed his interest to commiting to the Wolverines' program in 2027.

"I’m definitely interested in Michigan. They are in constant thought. When I’m thinking about top schools, I think about Michigan. They are a good school. They are known for winning. They offer a great education as well," Olubobola said.

This happened last year in November when Olubobola visited the campus. He was accompanied by his NIL agent Latish Kinsler. However, six months later, his loyalties changed.

Hailing from St.Peter's Prep in Jersey City, he had many suitors for his future collegiate career. From Miami to Texas A & M, everyone wanted to recruit the young talent. Ohio State and Penn State were also in the conversation.

Olubobola is on track to be the highest-rated signee, regardless of position for Notre Dame since DE Rodney Dunham.

Michigan might have lost one star player to a rival school but there is another star who might just give his nod.

Five-Star Recruit Impressed With Michigan's Culture

Olu Olubobola might have not committed but another hotshot prospect is already impressed with Michigan. As per Ethan McDowell of On3, Joshua Dobson is already setting sights on Michigan.

"My mom’s an educator, so everything about Michigan, my mom just loves it," Dobson confessed.

Apparently Michigan is the only non -SEC school that Dobson is considering. The school offers everything Dobson hopes to find his preferred college.

"The three big things— family environment, player development on and off the field, and I want to win," Dobson said.

The Hough High School student is a multi-discipline athlete. With a ranking of 11 overall, he is one of the best that North Carolina has to offer.

Dobson visited Michigan in April 16th with his grandmother. They were enamored by the environment. He is also looking to pursue a major in business he was taken to the business school.

Dobson is going make his call by mid July. As things stand presently it does seem Michigan Wolverines has got this in the bag.
