Michigan Football To Host Lane Kiffin's 5-star Target During Spring Practice

This spring, the Michigan Wolverines are expected to secure commitments from several top-tier recruits. They are also preparing to host a visit from a five-star cornerback currently targeted by the LSU under head coach Lane Kiffin.
According to On3’s Ethan McDowell, Cornelius (William Amos Hough) cornerback Joshua Dobson is set to travel to Ann Arbor this week for a visit with the Wolverines.
“Michigan will host 5 ⭐️ CB Joshua Dobson this week,” he wrote on his X post.
Even the 6’1”, 170-pound athlete confirmed on his X account that he would be making an unofficial visit to the Michigan Wolverines.
“I’ll be in Ann Arbor Thursday,” he wrote on X, tagging Michigan cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gifford.
In 2024, Dobson recorded 48 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three interceptions for Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He is widely regarded as the No. 2 cornerback in the 2027 class and is ranked among the top 10 overall players nationally.
Lane Kiffin and LSU have made Dobson a priority target, with multiple visits scheduled this offseason. Several other Southeastern Conference programs are also closely monitoring his recruitment as they await his decision.
Zach Ragan of A to Z Sports has also expressed confidence that Dobson could ultimately commit to LSU.
“LSU also feels great about its chances at landing cornerback Joshua Dobson. I couldn’t agree more. The Tigers have been relentless in their pursuit of the 6-1, 175-pounder, who 247Sports slots as the No. 2 cornerback in the country and No. 12 overall player in the nation,” he wrote.
Despite all of that, Dobson has instead scheduled a visit with the Michigan Wolverines’ new head coach, Kyle Whittingham, and continues to explore multiple other programs as well.
Joshua Dobson Visits Other University Amid the Recruitment Stretch
Joshua Dobson is scheduled for another visit with LSU in June, but is using the meantime to build stronger connections with other coaching staffs and programs.
On his X account, Dobson announced an offer from Clemson University in June 2025, followed by an unofficial visit in March 2026. Since then, he has taken five unofficial visits to Clemson as part of an ongoing relationship with the program.
“I am Extremely Blessed to receive an offer from Clemson University,” he stated.
Another notable visit came with the Texas Longhorns, who are emerging as a strong contender for Dobson, according to Justin Wells of Inside Texas.
“Texas is high on my list,” Dobson said. “Definitely the culture it feels welcoming, and I can’t wait to see a game soon. I believe late spring is when I last was there.”
It remains to be seen which program Joshua Dobson will ultimately choose for his commitment.
