The Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeyes are entangled in a recruiting toss-up yet again. This time, it is for five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who is on his official visit in Ann Arbor.

“5 (star) CB Joshua Dobson meets with Matthew B. Lester, who is the founder and CEO of Princeton Enterprises and #Michigan alum, on his official visit,” Michigan expert Brice Marich posted on X.

In a separate X post on June 13, Dobson shared a picture of himself with Matthew B. Lester, a Michigan alumnus. Rated No. 6 overall on Rivals' proprietary rankings, the cornerback has been inching towards Maize and Blue after the Texas A&M Aggies appeared to have a lead.

He has around 31 offers and has visited just three colleges.

Kyle Whittingham’s program has two CB commitments, Blake Jenkins and Darius Johnson, both four-star players. Dobson is a top target for not just Michigan but also many programs, and this weekend could be a defining moment in their recruiting drive.

So, How Good Is Joshua Dobson?

Ohio and Michigan are vying for Hough's cornerback, Joshua Dobson. Michigan could win the race as Dobson visited Ann Arbor by switching out LSU.

He offers both size and elite athleticism.

“Speedy zone corner with a wiry frame that can race into the deeper third,” Andrew Ivins described Joshua Dobson in his evaluation.

The 6’1 All-American a multi-sport athlete. In his breakout freshman year, Dobson recorded 24 tackles, 6 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions. He nearly doubled his stats in the following sophomore season with 48 tackles, 10 PBUs, and 3 INTs.

Dobson played his junior season at Fort Mill, Catawba Ridge, and recorded 4 tackles and 1 PBU in 8 games, per MaxPreps. Added 3 catches for 135 yards and 2 TDs on offense.

As an underclassman, he participated in the Under Armour All-America Game after transferring to Cornelius Hough.

He is a two-state qualifier in the 400-meter dash. His two marks include 10.85 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 22.21 seconds in the 200 meters. He ran 400 meter in 48.86 seconds.

Michigan Wolverines cornerback coach Jernaro Gilford is recruiting Joshua Dobson. The program is noted as “warmer” on the list of colleges chasing him. Do you think he will wear maize and blue? Tell us in the comments.
