Nation's No. 2 WR Predicted to Choose Curt Cignetti Over Michigan, Alabama
Monshun Sales is one of the most coveted wide receivers in the 2027 recruiting class. At 6-foot-5 and 201 pounds, the wide receiver out of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis has had blue-blood programs chasing him for over a year.
Rivals analyst Greg Smith made his prediction on Thursday, June 11, on Sales' probable landing spot. The analyst has him heading to the Indiana Hoosiers under Curt Cignetti, with 65% confidence. However, to him, the Alabama Crimson Tide is the biggest threat to flip that.
"It once felt like a slam dunk that Sales would play his college football in Tuscaloosa," Smith wrote on Rivals. "But there was a serious shift this spring that prompted me to predict him to Indiana. I still feel good about that prediction."
Smith's prediction carries weight, but it is not settled. Sales took an official visit to Alabama on May 29 that gave him "a lot to think about." Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, and LSU Tigers are also still in the picture.

Sales himself has been honest about Alabama's pull. His family is originally from the state. He grew up a Crimson Tide fan.
"Alabama has always been my dream school," Sales said in February, as reported by analyst Hayes Fawcett.
But Indiana has been building a serious case, too. Cignetti took the Hoosiers to a 16-0 national championship in his second season. For the recruit coming out of Indianapolis, watching that happen in his own backyard meant something.
"Indiana has been my second home," Sales told Rivals in the same interview. "Their coaching and how they've turned the program around to be national champions stands out."
Sales is ranked No. 2 at his position by 247Sports. He caught 37 passes for 794 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior season. Those numbers from a 6-foot-5 receiver at the high school level explain why every elite program in the country is involved.
Why Landing Sales Would Be a Program-Defining Moment for Curt Cignetti
Cignetti has always been clear about what drives his recruiting philosophy.
"What's important to me is what drives a guy? Is he committed? Is he disciplined? What kind of family does he come from? I'm into production over potential," Cignetti said.
That is the same pitch he is making to Sales right now.
Sales would be the first five-star commit in Indiana program history if he chooses the Hoosiers. That is not a small thing to say. Cignetti's program has never landed a player at this level from the high school ranks.
Cignetti's 2027 class is currently ranked No. 29 nationally. It has eleven players for their upcoming class right now. Adding one of the top receivers in the country would instantly change the program's recruiting profile.
