"Offense is Going To Be Really Dangerous”: Big Ten QB Issues Warning to College Football World
After flipping from Miami to Michigan, freshman QB Tommy Carr has a bold prediction. He thinks not only will the team make it deep into the college football season, but has the potential to be one of the best.
Appearing on Champ Media’s podcast, The Team, Carr made it clear that the Wolverines meant business, promising that the team could go bigger than their 7-2 record in the Big Ten.
"I want to find a role. I want to help the team do whatever I have to do," Carr explained. Looking at the bigger picture, the freshman added, "I think our offense is going to be really dangerous this year. I think we can make a big run this season."
Now there's a reason behind this belief. After parting ways with coach Sherrone Moore, Michigan brought in former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham, where he had a record of 177-88 across 22 years, going 11-6 in bowl games and eight 10-win seasons.
But that's not all. The team has one of the best QBs in college football, Bryce Underwood. In his first season with the team, Underwood managed 2,428 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 6 more on the ground.
And the team has also secured its future with Carr joining the squad.
Tommy Carr Always Wanted Michigan
"I was pretty under recruited. I was committed to Miami (OH) for a while, and then it was about like last few games into my high school senior year, I got offered from Michigan," Carr recalled.
Tommy Carr is not just any Michigan freshman. The QB is the grandson of legendary Michigan HC Lloyd Carr and the younger brother of Notre Dame QB CJ Carr. He arrived in Ann Arbor as a four-star recruit in the 2026 class, and he is already making bold statements about what this offense can do.
"I kind of knew like Michigan was where I always wanted to go. So once I got that offer, it was pretty much a no brainer that this is where I wanted to be. And now we're here and I'm extremely grateful."
HC Kyle Whittingham has already seen enough to back that confidence up.
