Ohio State Predicted to Land Nation's No.2 RB
The Ohio State Buckeyes are amping up their roster with new additions. This time around, a new five-star talent made a visit to Columbus and was deeply impressed by the culture.
With the official visits happening, Baylor RB David Gabriel Georges took a trip to Columbus. From what he saw, he was deeply impressed. His interactions with position coach Carlos Locklyn, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of signing Georges, were telling.
"They really want me to a Buckeye. Not only do they want to develop me as a football player, but also as a man. Coach (Locklyn) told me that when he first offered me, when I was in Canada, he saw that I could be a great athlete," said Georges speaking to Rivals' reporter Hayes Fawcett.

His comments came after he visited Columbus last weekend. The sought-after prospect has already begun making the rounds. So far, he's had official scheduled visits planned with Ohio State and Tennessee, and he's had stops at Ole Miss and Georgia.
According to ON3, Georges has a NIL valuation of $452k.He holds a rating of 96 on Rivals and 86 on ESPN. In addition, 247Sports gives him a rating of 98. Coming out of Baylor School, the Red Raiders expect big things from him when he joins the class of 2027.
His speed is his biggest asset as an RB, making him no.2 in the nation. He also clocked an 11.23-second time in a 100-metre dash during his sophomore track meet.
The Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day are waiting on his confirmation. If the insider consensus is to be believed, the deal is almost sealed at this point in time.
George's Confirmation Could Be Arriving Soon
Recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong revealed on the Rivals podcast that he's already received a third prediction to land Gabriel Georges. So if nothing drastic happens, Ryan Day could have his 2027 RB in David Gabriel Georges.
The main competition now lies with Tennessee. That will be his final stop as he is supposed to visit Knoxville this upcoming weekend.
Yet current indications still suggest that Ohio will be his pick. If George confirms, he would be the first five-star running back recruit since TreVeyon Henderson joined the program.
Recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong has spoken candidly about it on the Rivals podcast.
"I think it starts with the relationship with position coach Carlos Locklyn.“He’s been on Gabriel Georges longer than anybody. He’s been up to Canada a few times to visit with his family, and he’s got several family members visiting Ohio State with him this weekend," said Wiltfong
The close relationship between Locklyn and Georges is the main reason why the latter would lean towards Ohio. Don't rule out Tennessee yet, though, and that is because of George's state connection. So a Tennessee move cannot completely be ruled out.
As things stand, Ryan Day and Co are leading this battle, and the Buckeyes are en route to making a fantastic addition.
