Ohio State QB Julian Sayin Shares Controversial Take Michigan Fans Won’t Like
Ohio State's rising QB Julian Sayin is still coasting over his team's latest win, and Michigan fans might not like that. Reminiscing about last year's victory (27-9) over Michigan, Sayin was blunt about his thoughts in a recent interview.
The 20-year-old was a guest on the Triple Option Podcast. Sayin was candid regarding the team's mindset and admitted they had a lot of fun playing, despite having lost to Michigan four consecutive times recently.
"I think the team had a great mindset going into it. We weren’t really feeling a ton of pressure. We know how much it means to the state of Ohio and our fan base. But walking into that stadium, it was just a ton of fun; we had a ton of juice," stated Sayin.
It seems that not buckling under pressure and their love for the game played a big role in Ohio State's win. And Sayin isn't shy about mentioning his own contribution either. His play set the tone for the whole team and helped them dominate the field.
"Obviously, off the bat, I threw the interception. And then, after that, I felt like we were just in control," he added.

Naturally, that would be a hard pill to swallow for the Wolverine fanbase. Michigan had won the year prior 13-10, and now they had to settle for a loss. Despite setting a precedent with the Buckeyes' prior losses against Michigan, Ohio was indifferent to it all.
Sayin was one of the stars in that game. He threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns with one early interception on 19-of-26. That meant Ohio finally got a win back, and their payback was served.
However, Sayin and the Buckeyes are just getting started.
Sayin Happy With New Acquisition Henry Jr
Julian Sayin is pumped about having a recruit in Chris Henry Jr. The 2026 commit is a WR and looks like he will be a game-changer.
"I think he’s a great player. Got a lot of potential and had a great spring this spring. It’s been fun to build that relationship with him and build that connection on the field," said Sayin, praising the newest recruit on the Triple Option Podcast.
Henry was a five-star recruit. He was ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
It will be interesting to see how these two combine. Sayin had a breakout season in 2025, throwing for 3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just 8 interceptions with a 77% completion rate.
His freshman target similarly had a stellar high school career for Mater Dei. Henry Jr finished his senior season with 28 catches for 607 yards (21.7 YPC) and 6 TDs in 8 games. This also comprised a 4-catch, 135-yard, 2-TD performance in a televised game against St. Thomas Aquinas.
Together, they may just become the dynamic duo that the Buckeyes can rely on. Henry's job will require him to build a connection with his star quarterback. And, if he does it correctly, the Buckeyes have a great asset up their sleeve.
