Paige Shiver Breaks Silence on Sherrone Moore

Michigan Wolverines dismissed Sherrone Moore in December 2025 after he was allegedly in an inappropriate relationship with his staffer, Paige Shiver. As the legal turmoil continues, Shiver broke the silence on the incident involving Moore.

Shiver joined Michigan in 2021 as an assistant. Back then, Moore was the offensive line coach for the Wolverines. By the spring of 2025, Paige was promoted to the executive assistant to Moore, who had already become the head coach by then. Now, Shiver opened up about her experience working alongside Moore.

“Here’s a man (Sherrone Moore) that had complete control over me,” Shiver said in her Good Morning America interview as she publicly spoke for the first time since the incident. “Over my emotions, over my career. He knew that, and he used it against me.”

According to prosecutors, Moore persisted in contacting Shiver while she tried to break off communication with him. It was first Shiver who told the University of Michigan that they had been involved in a relationship that violated Moore’s contract.

“Every time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to try and get out of even Michigan, he always had a story,” Shiver said in her GMA interview. “Always had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn’t leave him because he was so miserable without me.”

Moore allegedly drove to Shiver's apartment and confronted her when she did not keep in contact.

While Michigan took strict action by dismissing Moore in December, they were not sure about Shiver. According to paperwork from Paige’s personnel file acquired through a Freedom of Information Act request, her contract officially ended on Feb. 28, 2026.

It marked the end of her Michigan chapter, as the Wolverines did not extend her contract.

What Happens to Sherrone Moore Now?

Moore has been sentenced to 18 months of probation and a felony charge of third-degree home invasion and two misdemeanors.

"I don't believe, when I look at the entirety of this situation, that incarceration should be appropriate," District Court Judge Cedric Simpson said during Tuesday, April 14th’s sentencing in Washtenaw County Court.

The former head coach was also fined just over $ 1,000 for incidents stemming from the misdemeanors at Shivers' apartment.

However, Shiver's attorneys, Andrew M. Stroth and Steven A. Hart, criticized the sentence.

According to them, it "does not reflect the seriousness of Moore's unlawful entry and aggressive attack on Ms. Shiver on December 10th,” per a statement previously shared with PEOPLE.

As reported by Moore’s attorney, Ellen Michaels, the former Michigan head coach's sentence was deferred. It means the charges will be dismissed if he successfully completes probation.
