Sherrone Moore's ex-staffer Paige Shiver lands new role in NFL after suing Michigan
Paige Shiver, a former executive assistant to the Michigan Wolverines, has landed a new role with the Chicago Bears. The daughter of longtime Chicago scout Jeff Shiver, she moves to the NFL following a tumultuous stint at Michigan. Meanwhile, the university continues to navigate the fallout from her ongoing FOIA lawsuit
“Former Michigan executive assistant Paige Shiver was recently hired by the Chicago Bears to work in community engagement and special projects,” former ESPN reporter Matt Fortuna posted on X.
While the specific duties of her role remain unannounced, the position aligns with the franchise's extensive off-field community impact initiatives.

Early in May, the Bears released their 2025-26 community report to highlight their work throughout the Chicago area. They invested $2.8 million in Bears Care in youth football, women’s cancer initiatives, education, and community programs in underserved neighborhoods.
Shiver can be expected to work closely under many such programs, as being hired to work on community projects, per former ESPN reporter Matt Fortuna.
This role is different from her former role at Michigan under former head coach Sherrone Moore. Her stint with the Wolverines resulted in a lawsuit against the program over Moore’s dismissal.
Earlier this July, Shiver and her attorney filed a lawsuit against Michigan for allegedly violating the Freedom of Information Act. The suit follows the university's denial of six separate records requests regarding the independent internal investigation into Moore's misconduct and his termination.
“It was important for our client to file this initial FOIA lawsuit to ensure the truth and facts come out,” Shiver’s attorney Andrew M. Stroth said, per ESPN.
They filed the lawsuit in a Washtenaw County court, seeking the requested records and punitive damages. In December 2025, the Wolverines' athletic director, Warde Manuel, dismissed Moore when his relationship with Shiver came to light. He had described it as “inappropriate.”
However, another lawsuit by a former Wolverines coach has made serious claims about the university’s role in their relationship.
Former employee claims Michigan Wolverines leaders did little to protect Paige Shiver
Former Wolverines assistant Chris Partridge renewed his lawsuit against the Michigan Wolverines AD Warde Manuel and former school president Santa Ono. In it, he alleged that they were aware of former head coach Sherrone Moore’s involvement with Paige Shiver.
“Inappropriate relationship between former head football coach Sherrone Moore and a subordinate employee for years without taking action to protect the employee,” Partridge’s lawsuit read, per a July 14 CBS Sports report.
This statement is concerning in light of Moore’s actions toward Shiver following his dismissal. On the evening of December 10, Moore was arrested for his violent behavior, with serious misdemeanor charges, including a felony, filed against him.
“He broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged, and came at me with knives,” Shiver said. “I was threatened, and I feared for my life,” Shiver said per an April 15 ESPN report.
In March, according to the same ESPN report, Moore pleaded no contest to trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device against Shiver in exchange for dropping felony and other charges.
