Tom Brady reveals the one defensive player he was scared of the most on the field
Tom Brady spent decades haunting defenses, but the script flipped whenever a few feared pass rushers came charging at him, and even the GOAT couldn’t escape the nightmares they created.
While having a conversation with fitness YouTuber Jesse James West back in May, Brady was asked if he ever feared any specific player, and the GOAT didn't hesitate to name Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
"Yeah. Ray Lewis," Brady said at the podcast back in May. "He was a pain in my a**. Because not only was he physically so gifted, talk about like the all-day juice he would bring, he would inspire all his teammates to be just like him."
While James was certainly shocked by the answer, he asked Brady on his YouTube channel why he was so terrified of Lewis. Brady explained that, from his perspective, Lewis was truly one of a kind.

Few defenders brought the same level of intensity as Ray Lewis. The legendary linebacker finished his NFL career as the NFL’s all-time tackles leader with 2,059 stops, and he achieved this feat in just 17 seasons.
On top of that, he is a 13-time Pro Bowler and a 10-time All-Pro. Two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Super Bowl XXXV MVP, and two Super Bowl titles.
His bone-crushing tackles terrified his opponents back then, and Tom Brady was no different. Interestingly, this is not the first time he has named Lewis as his worst nightmare.
Ray Lewis was Tom Brady’s biggest on-field nightmare
While speaking with Logan Paul, Tom Brady admitted that Ray Lewis and Haloti Ngata of the Baltimore Ravens gave him nightmares on the field.
“Ray Lewis was at the top," Brady said on Logan Paul's podcast last year. "Ndamukong Suh, I didn't like getting hit by him. J.J. [Watt] wasn't very fun to get hit by. Haloti Ngata, you remember him? He was about 340 pounds for the Ravens. He was massive. So, yeah, that's not fun."
Lewis' on-field presence was something else, but Ngata wasn't far behind as a terrifying force himself. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, he was one of the most dominant interior defenders of his era.
It's fair to say that taking a hit from him was every quarterback's nightmare.
Brady crossed paths with Baltimore multiple times during his tenure in New England. Their postseason rivalry ended evenly, with each team winning two games. That said, what are your thoughts on Brady's confession?
